Using Nero to convert video files to the MKV (Matroska Video) format is useful for a number of different reasons. MKV is a container format that is open source and supports multiple audio and video codecs. As a result, it is an excellent option for storing large amounts of multimedia content. In addition to this, its compression capabilities are superior to those of other popular formats, enabling users to store a greater quantity of content in a given amount of storage space. Those individuals who need to store a substantial quantity of video files on their personal computers or on external storage devices may find this to be an especially helpful feature. Additionally, Nero provides access to a variety of advanced features, including the capacity to simultaneously edit and convert multiple video files, as well as the capacity to burn MKV files to Blu-ray discs.
Now, let's walk through the process of converting your video files to MKV using Nero recode step by step.
Let's get Nero Recode up and running by opening Nero Start on the desktop and navigating to the appropriate location to do so.
After the application had been successfully launched, we were given the option to "Import Video Files" in order to proceed.
In this video, we import five videos to demonstrate the converter; however, the number of videos that can be added is not restricted, and you are free to add more than five. These five videos are all in different video formats; we chose AVI, MKV, WMV, MPG, and MP4 so that we could make it easier for you to understand how to convert any files to MKV.
When all five videos have been successfully added, we will loop back up to the left dashboard to select the output setting; the 'MKV' will be in the first available location at that time. Simply clicking on it will bring up the drop-down menu where you can select the MKV format.
Simply click the "OK" button, and it will begin converting every video format you have to the MKV format. Let's begin the process of encoding these five videos one at a time; it shouldn't take more than a minute for them all to be converted and ready to go. The dashboard will keep you updated on the progress of the encoding process.
I was wondering how your conversion is going. Try out our Nero Recode and see if it meets your requirements; don't be afraid to do so.
