We might delete or change important files or folders by mistake. When this happens, having a backup from before lets us get back the lost or changed info.
Our info could be lost or messed up if our computer crashes or a piece of hardware fails. We can get our system back to the way it was working before the crash or loss by using a backup from before.
Bad software can get on our computers and delete or change our info. If this happens, returning to an earlier backup can help get rid of the malware and get our files back.
When you install new software or changes, they can sometimes make your system incompatible or unstable. If this happens, we can go back to a backup of the machine that didn't have any software or updates installed.
Sometimes, we might need to see an older copy of a file or go back to an earlier version. Versioning and revision control are made possible by backups, which let us get back specific versions of files.
Overall, being able to return to earlier backups helps protect data integrity, cuts down on data loss, and gives you a safety net in case something goes wrong. Let's use Nero BackItUp to back up version changes step by step.
Start Nero BackItUp from Nero Start.
Once Nero BackItUp is open, click "Back Up Now" to move forward.
Select "Local Snapshot" from "Local Copy" and then click Next. And we must pick the target folder to back up, then select customize selection to locate the target one.
Browse the backup target and click Next.
Make a backup task plan and then start the job manually. We might also pick between monthly, weekly, and daily backups.
Make some changes to your file. In the example, the original text file is labeled 'Backup 1st,' and we are adding 'Backup 2nd' for the changes.
Because we made changes to the file, the button turned yellow. Click it to start a second backup.
Now there are two backups: one is the original, and the other is after we changed the text file. We will guide you through the process of restoring these two backups one by one. Click "Restore".
Choose the 1st backup and select what to restore. Click Next.
Restore to a new path. Here we restore the first backup to the folder "Restore 1st".
We still click "Restore" to begin, as we did with the first backup.
Choose the 2nd backup and select what to restore. Click Next.
Restore to a new path. Here we restore the second backup to the folder "Restore 2nd".
Now the 2 backups are restored successfully. In the first restore folder "Restore 1st", you can find the original text file.
In the second restore folder "Restore 2nd", you can find the modified text file.
