Nero Recode supports both types of subtitles (soft subtitles and burn-in subtitles), giving you the freedom to select the best option for your videos.
Soft subtitles are separate files or embedded text streams that can be enabled or disabled by the viewer. They are commonly used to add captions or translations to videos. Soft subtitles could be added when exporting to AVC, HEVC, MPEG-4, or MKV formats.
Let's add soft subtitles by Nero Recode one step at a time. It allows for greater accessibility, multilingual support, customization, compatibility, and an improved viewing experience for a broader range of audiences.
Open Nero Recode from Nero Start and select "Import Video Files" from the "Convert Media Files" menu.
Expand the More Options arrow after selecting the output settings. When exporting to AVC, HEVC, MPEG-4, or MKV formats, you can include soft subtitles.
In this video, we choose MKV as the output format.
Select some subtitle files to add as soft subtitles for the video by clicking the Subtitles tab.
You can assign a language Tag to a specific language. You can change the frame rate if necessary. You can also set a delay duration if the subtitle display time does not match the video well. Press the OK button.
The process begins when you click the "start encoding" button. Wait until the process is completed, which takes about 15 seconds.
Then, similar to a closed caption, you can play the encoded video with subtitles and switch between different languages/subtitles, which are overlaid on top of the video rather than being written into the video itself.
You can easily switch the subtitles on and off and select different languages.
Nice tool for Nero Recode that makes adding soft subtitles so easy.
