How to Add Subtitles & Translate Subtitles for Video

Choose Recording Mode

Click the recording-mode icon on the Nero Screen Recorder panel to select how you want to capture your screen.

Select the Recording Area

When the crosshair appears, click or drag to outline the window you want to capture.

Make sure the orange frame fits the playback area.

Confirm the Frame and Start Recording

Adjust the orange border if needed, then hit the round Record button to begin capturing your video.

Stop Recording

Once playback is finished, click the red Stop button. Your clip will automatically open in the Nero Screen Recorder editor.

Open the Subtitle Panel

In the editor window, click the Subtitle button on the right side to begin adding subtitles to your recorded video.

Generate Auto Subtitles and Translation

Inside Auto Subtitle:

-Keep Source Language on Auto
-Turn on Enable translation
-Choose your Target Language (e.g., Deutsch)
-Click Create

Nero AI will automatically generate accurate subtitles and translate them into your target language.

Customize Subtitle Style

Go to Subtitle Style and fine-tune:
-Font & size
-Text color
-Outline & shadow
-Subtitle position

Edit and Split Subtitle Segments

Go back to the Text tab and use the Split button next to a subtitle to break long lines into shorter ones and fine-tune the text for each timecode.

Review Subtitles and Click Export

Play the video in the preview area, check that all subtitles and translations are correct in the list on the right, then click the Export button to start saving.

Set Export Options and Save the Video

In the Save ss window, confirm:
-File format
-Encoder
-Resolution
-Bitrate
-Save location

Then click Export to save your final video with subtitles included.
